A GFCI, is an inexpensive electrical device installed in household branch circuits to prevent electrocutions and fatal electric shocks. Because they detect ground faults and interrupt the flow of current, GFCIs also help prevent electrical fires. GFCIs are lifesavers!

Types of GFCI offered
We offer three types of GFCIs: 

• Receptacle Type is used to replace the standard duplex receptacles. It fits into standard outlet boxes and protects you from ground faults whenever an electrical device is plugged into the outlet. GFCIs can also protect other electrical outlets by shutting off the branch circuit.
• Circuit Type is used in panel boxes to protect selected circuits and serves two purposes: One, it shuts off in the event of a ground fault. Two, it trips in the event of a short circuit or overload.
• Portable Type is used where permanent GFCIs are not practical and adds flexibility in using unprotected receptacles. It is plugged into a receptacle, and an electrical device is then plugged into it.
